Pasay City – The 23rd National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo 2016 ended on a high note with nearly 1,000 conference attendees plus even more foot traffic at the expo, all held at the SM Convention Center in Pasay City.

President and CEO of the ABS-CBN Corporation, Mr Carlo Lopez Katigbak, opened the conference with a keynote speech about the shift that most industries – the television and entertainment industries included – are taking towards digitization. Several industry big-guns and CEOs from companies like Google, Twitter, Globe, and SM Inc., took to the stage of SMX’s Function Room 4 thereafter to conduct talks revolving around the theme “Shifting Gears in Retail: Consumption in the Digital Age.” The plenary ended with a panel session on the topic “What Do Millenials Really Want?” with representatives from Kalibrr, Nielsen, and Ayala Malls as panelists.

Next door at Function Rooms 2 & 3, dozens of companies showcased their products and services in an intimate but exciting run of Stores Asia Expo 2016. Highlighted there was the expo’s very own Pop-Up Store dubbed Stores Asia Hub, where brands like Wilcon, Blims, Quantumin Coffee, Nice Day Coffee, and WAV Atmospheric Branding let expo attendees experience their products and services first hand.

All in all, the partnered events proved to be an excellent venue for expanding client networks, gaining new business knowledge, learning new industry practices, and building new potential partnerships.

WAV’s Atmospheric Branding services included providing LED menu boards, Panphonics directional speakers, and ambient coffee scenting to the pop-up store. Expo music and ads were also courtesy of WAV. The company also provided the ambient scenting for the retail conference.
